Divorce is more than just submitting papers and making an appearance before a judge. It is one of those life-altering moments that should never be decided on lightly. Friends are more awkward, since there is a great likelihood that both parties have the same set of friends. But nothing can compare with the torn alliances of the children of the marriage. Some kids feel withdrawn, unable to show their emotions to one parent for fear of alienating the other.
