Is Your Supplement a Pollution Free Fish Oil?

There is no denying that taking an omega 3 fish oil supplement is good for you. This is not just the thought of holistic practitioners any more, this is backed up now by scientific research into the properties of omega 3 from oily fish. The challenge is though that oily fish contain pollutants and yet not all tablets contain pollutant free fish oil.

And this causes concerns because the pollutants to be found in oily fish are PCB's and mercury, which if taken long term can of course have a negative effect on your health. You would have thought that this would not be allowed but unfortunately the health industry is not heavily regulated and so some companies take advantage of this. Not only do they not bother to remove pollution from their products, Foyle's war but some then claim their product is pharmaceutical grade which gives the indication that it is of a high grade pure quality, when in fact it is a made up term which is used for nothing but marketing.

What you should be looking for to ensure that you get a pollutant free fish oil is that it has been molecularly distilled. This is a process wherein all pollutants are removed. If you can find a make that claims this and backs it up with independent checks, then even better. And yes you are going to probably pay a little more for this kind of product, but isn't it worth it to make sure you get health benefits without putting yourself at risk?

In fact what you will also find is that companies that make pollutant free fish oil capsules also use fresh fish for their products. Again you would have thought this to be something that is normally done, but companies keeping costs down will buy fish that has been frozen at sea: doing this process makes the fish rancid. If a company is using this kind of fish, they will probably advise you to take your tablet with food in the hope that you do not notice the fishy tasting burps that accompany rancid fish.

There are more things to look into when buying a capsule alongside of it being a pollutant free fish oil , and to help you make sure you purchase the best quality tablet possible I have put together a 5 part guide for you which you can get free at my website. You can find the site at
